Pickups for my Tele
« on: August 25, 2013, 03:17:22 PM »
Would appreciate some opinions. I'm wanting to replace the pickups on my 2011 American Standard Tele with a Maple neck. I would like something with a little more bite and have been looking at a set of Yardbirds. My genre is blues and some rock, no heavy metal. Any opinions or suggestions

The Yardbirds are a 60's set with a more mellow tone.  For a maple neck with aggression, I'd look at the Boss set.  When I was looking for a Roy Buchanan sound Tim recommended these.  I would also look at a set of Blackguards - probably the flat 50 if you want a bit fatter tone from the neck too.
So many pickups, so little time

+1. Besides the Boss, a BG52-set would do too.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
