What pedal boards are you lot using?
« on: September 01, 2013, 05:06:31 PM »
I've outgrown my little Diago commuter. The Pedaltrains look good but a bit pricey? Want something that goes upward at the back rather than flat and has room for the psu and cables underneath. Any boards I might not be aware of? Or better yet, any of you made your own?

I use a pedaltrain 2 that I bought used at a good price. I haven't owned any other pedalboards so I can't make any comparrisons, but I really like the pedaltrain all though the version I got is too small to hold all my pedals.

I  haven't made it yet but  you get two shelves for 9 quid I think.and they're the perfect size.

if you Google gorm shelf pedal board you should get a few results

I'm still using a Boss-board and some stuff outboard with adapters. It gets a bit untidy, so my plan is to let a pro-company build me a big pedalboard, with powerunits and extra send and returns all in one box.

pedaltrain 2 is perfect for me, it's well worth it, I've used it for over 5 years now.

Something like this I need. Good to see a lot of very good pedals on your board, like the Flint and the Retro Sonic Phaser.

I'm thinking of getting the Pedaltrain 2 with the soft case.

The only thing that cheeses me off a bit is that you get the brackets for the Voodoo Labs power supply with it but not the 'universal' bracket that fits everything else.  You need to pay another $15+ for those.  I have a T-Rex Fuel Tank Chameleon but at present everything is just laying on the floor rather than on a board.  As I get more pedals I will definitely need a board.  I have a wah on the way and I'm looking at getting at least one EQ and a compressor in addition to what I already have (EHX Metal Muff, Maxon OD-9, TC Polytune, ISP Decimator G-String).

I've got a Pedaltrain, one of the small ones with the soft case.  It can fit about 8 pedals on it, which suites me just fine.

I p!ssed about for ages agonising over buying one, because I thought that they were expensive for that they were.  I made my own, which was OK, but really big and time consuming.

Pedaltrain is great though.

Yea, this is what I'm afraid of. The Diago is ok, but very basic - I mean it's just a bread board with carpet and feet on.

Those Trailer Trash look great. Might order something like this http://trailertrashpedalboards.com/24x12-proseries-board-only?ReturnUrl=LwBwAHIAbwBzAGUAcgBpAGUAcwAtAGIAbwBhAHIAZABzAA%3d%3d

Here's a photo I found of a Pedaltrain Jnr with the universal brackets fitted underneath to take a non-Voodoo power supply (in this case a T-Rex Chameleon like mine).  Apparently the PT-2 etc are the same in this respect, just that the actual board is longer to fit more pedals.

The kettle chord goes in just near the side of the board.
