It could be a little more.  I'm predicting that it will be a face-melter in that SG Junior through my amp, but I'll have to wait and see.  I'm too self-conscious to post videos on youtube.  Kudos for doing that, it really helps people wanting to know what stuff sounds like

And, yes, I did watch your video in the other thread, it sounds great

i have 3 strats. heres a pic of the other 2.

and i love the 70s style headstock too. it came stock on the old Tom Delonge signature fender back in the early 2000s which is what these all are.

the orange one is a warmoth body though with a neck from that delonge model. i love the seymour duncan invader in it even though many people hate that pickup.
the black one has a gibson dirty fingers in it and a few other random things and i'm thinking of putting a BK juggernaut in it. i need a metal guitar!

Nope the black one is the production line tom Delonge model. So just a Mexican made fender.   I bought it with the stripe on it already though.  It's a sticker.

And about the c pig.  I love what I hear about the jug. I want something metal but not strictly metal.  Not right now anyway

I was joking about the C-Pig.  Not sure what that would sound like in a Strat.  I'd probably be tempted to go with something like a Jackson with a Floyd Rose if I got one of those.

Well, so far my Stockholm doesn't sound quite like yours.  Not sure if its that little bit of extra output stated on the card (an extra 600Ω or so) compared with the advertised spec or the fact that it is in a standard P-90 housing rather than a HSP90 housing but this is one raucous little beast!  The change in weather over the last week or so (combined with the fact that I removed all the strings at once and flipped the guitar over several times while fitting the pickup) seemed to bow the neck (it came from the most humid areas in Australia to one of the driest) so I've just adjusted the truss rod tonight and set the bridge height properly before experimenting with pickup heights.  Now I couldn't do it for long as I had already tested the patience of others in the house with the big Peavey (which is quite loud even on lower volumes) for a good while, so I just raised it up some to see how it would react.  While I think it does need further adjustment (probably down a bit) this really brought out the pickup's nasty side.  This is a very hot pickup!  Cleans are not so great through the Peavey (better though than those from the Warpigs) due to the output but boy does this thing have a nasty snarl to it!  I'm not hearing the Muse thing at the moment - not that I care, and I was kind of hoping I wouldn't! - but rather a nasty hardcore edge a bit like I got with the A-Bomb (which in a way this guitar replaces) but somehow brighter and more open too.  I think a lot of it also has to do with the combination with an SG Junior, which is a light and resonant guitar, but this is a really nasty little thing, capable of any style of hardcore and a lot more besides.  I didn't know a P-90 could sound as aggressive and ballsy as this!!

So you like it then Agent Orange? You think it is what you are looking for?

Yeah it is nasty alright, it has that very distinct P90 midrange growl which you just canīt find in a HB. Ballsy yeah, P90s are never thin and the SH especially is just on steroids. Love mine. The metal riffing I get out of it is amazing. Tight, defined, super angry and mostl lovely of all has a certain old school edge in there even though the general sound is pretty modern.

How are you finding the definition, especially on the lower strings? That is one of my personal favorite things about P90s.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

I don't think I have the height right just yet, I might be too close to the strings to get that definition you are talking about Kiichi, but I'll give it some more turns of the screwdriver tomorrow.  It's only been in two completely random positions so far.  The first, much lower, sounded a bit weak, as you might expect.  It was just wherever it ended up when I installed it, and was just done by eye to somewhere that looked vaguely like where the old one sat.  Tonight I raised the the bass side three full turns at least and the treble side probably four or five, and it's much more aggressive now but I think could be clearer.  I'll try moving it down a little tomorrow.  Once I've got it roughly right I'll have a look at the pole pieces, but I'm guessing a 12" radius to match the fretboard would do the trick, or at least serve as a good starting point.

I love aggressive, heavy tones so I'm very happy. The riffing really got an extra kick when I raised the pickup.  When I had it lower I found it a bit lacklustre but I knew that it wasn't set properly.  I didn't even bother trying to adjust the height until I had a chance to sort the truss rod and bridge out first, because pickup height is always relative to bridge height.

I didn't have to lower it very much.

I'll keep playing and see how I like it where it is now.
