All I can say about this pickup is 'WOW!'  I'm having a second-honeymoon with the pink SG Junior since hitting that 'sweet spot' in terms of pickup height.  You really do need to be prepared to spend an hour or so fiddling to get it right, but it pays off.

This is my favourite BKP so far, ahead of the Cold Sweat, A-Pig, and A-Bomb.  Anyone who plays old school hardcore from the '80s NEEDS this pickup (and preferably an SG to go with it).  Definitely better than the A-Bomb, and in fact this pickup just underlines all of the issues I had with the A-Bomb.  I had that pickup set so low and with the pole pieces so high in large part just to tone down the annoying mid-range honk it had in my SG Standard.  This pickup has all of  the aggression of the Nailbomb without the honk and I can put it closer to the strings to get more output from it.  A great, great pickup.  It doesn't sound as much like the BKP clips as the one in littleredguitars's strat but that might be my playing.  It seems much rawer and aggressive than that.  The SG Junior is a nasty little thing in stock form by comparison with a Strat but the clips on the BKP site were recorded with an SG so I would have thought it would be closer to those than the Strat is.  That said it might just be that I don't know how to get that sound out of it

i know how you feel man. i love the stockholm too. i actually bought a new pickguard for my blue stockholm strat and will have it as the single pickup in the guitar. i dont know what it is but i just hate feeling that middle pickup as i'm strumming. it always gets in the way and i'll rarely use it. so i'm actually either going to sell the trilogies or find some use for them somewhere else.

Yeah I wouldn't like that middle pickup either.

You should shove it in a Telecaster and add a Piledriver neck pickup.  That would probably suit you better.  Do you like Teles?  I think they can be good as long as you get a modern neck shape and a bridge with six saddles that doesn't have that sharp 'ashtray' lip on it.  As you can probably tell I'm not a purist when it comes to Fenders, although I wouldn't mind having a regular Tele with a pair of Piledrivers.  I've always liked the idea of a Strat with the three single coils but I think in practice I would be annoyed by the volume knob placement and the middle pickup.

Brilliant. Always a relief to hear when a recommendation goes well. Spreading the P90 love around feels especially good. For metal it too is the best PU I have yet tried. The agression, the roar, the fulness, the power, the attack, the tighness....the controll. Modern sound in general but cause it is very much a P90 still you always have that certain throwback in there which I can see how it lends itself great to 80s hardcore. I really like how you describe it as nasty, perfect word. The RY rocks, the Stockholm is nasty. Lets get more one word reviews out there xD

i had one of the blacktop model teles for a while. it was an HH design. it was a nice guitar but i always prefered strats or LPs.

One of my friends here has a MIJ Tele with a dead pickup.  I try to encourage him to go for a Piledriver set. We are looking to join this punk band in the city (we both live out in the boonies) so he might get around to it sooner rather than later if that takes off.

if i had a tele with a "normal" configuration i'd definitely throw a piledriver in there as well
