Reverse wound reverse polarity

I'm probably going to buy a set of blackguard flat 50 tele pickups possibly with the 4way switch option. I'm considering going for the non reverse wound/reverse polarity option because it's more vintage and it's supposed preserve more of the highs. Obviously I would lose hum cancelling though.
I play mostly clean to crunchy blues and rock - no high gain - and I've never been bothered by single coil hum but obviously the quieter the better.

So my question - is the tonal improvement of the non RWRP significant enough to warrant losing the hum cancelling for most people?

One other factor for me would be that on a tele you got 2 huming positions already and then adding one that does not hum just seems odd when switching between them.
I much prefer them either to be all quiet or all humming.

That video convinced me too.  If hum bothers you too much I think something like my ISP Decimator G-String pedal would take care of that, and that way you could dial it back
