It was a P-90 wound to Stockholm specs - i.e., pretty much the same pickup on the inside as the one sent to you, but in a black P-90 soapbar housing to suit my SG Junior.

In the standard P-90 range it goes Supermassive -> Pig 90.  The Stockholm falls between them in terms of output, with a similar output to the A-Bomb.  So this pickup will be like an overwound Supermassive.

I think this way round is easier for them than making a P90 into HB casing. If I recall correctly, too lazy to look it up right now.

Really looking forward to your thoughts. I recon you will be very pleased, just wanne know how you describe your initial reaction (and more).

Cheers, I'll let you know

I will wire it to the standard harness first to see the difference in sound from just the pickup.

Then I will wire up a custom harness, probably 500K volume/tone and maybe a bypass.

Any ideas on capacitor values?

I'm thinking that it's probably well worth shielding the cavities of the guitar with paint and/or foil, but I am wondering about what is said regarding grounding the shielding - do people screw a wire into the wood, check the connectivity between that and the shield, and then solder it to the back of a pot?

Just arrived!  That was super fast, under ten days from when I ordered it until it got to my house in Australia.

Warranty card says 15.9KΩ

Apparently the wire used in the Stockholm is 44 SPN (poly), the same as used in the Painkiller pickups.

'Stockholm' written on the back of the box (which is a Strat box with a P-90 Soapbar size foam insert)  in marker ... very cool

Stockholm, I like that name, makes me feel at home :D Too bad it's not the kind of wind I want...anybody know where it got its name from? It doesn't seem to have anything to do with Abba...

That's what I figured it was from.  Same with supermassive and the muse song so supermassive black hole.

I'm just guessing that it was inspired by that closing riff, which is a pretty sure bet for being the heaviest Muse riff.

It's not my style of music, but I can hear the tones there that will work with what I like to play.  I'll try to get that pickup in later today.  How do you like your Stockholm?  Played any of that Muse type stuff through it yet?

I suspect it's going to be noisy, but I just want to try it as a baseline to get an idea of the change from the stock Gibson pickup to this BKP in itself.  I will definitely pull it apart again later to shield the cavities and install a new shielded harness (which is pretty cheap with such a simple guitar) but I want to work out whether I will need different pots and caps first.

i'm working on a review video for it now. the stockholm seriously sounds huge and fat. i love it. you'll see soon!
