Juggernauts into Jim Root Tele
« on: October 12, 2013, 05:22:53 PM »
Guys,

New to the forum, so here goes my first post.

Long story short:

- Swapped the stock EMG's for Dimarzio D-Activators in my Jim Root Tele (H-H)
- Neck is body mounted, bridge is mounted to the pick guard
- Sound greatly improved, but guitar is routed for EMG's and the Dimarzio's appear to be a bit smaller, leaving the Tele looking a bit odd
- Thinking about a swap for a calibrated covered set of Juggernauts
- Will they fit?

Before anyone asks I don't like Periphery, but based on the vids I've seen of the Juggernauts, tonally they might work for me.

Thanks,

James

Hi and welcome.

I personally can see the Juggs work well in teles and all sorts of bright guitars. With a JR one especially it could be lovely.

However it would be very helpful if you would tell us a little more about the sound you want to get and what amp you are using. The Juggs will sound great in there, but right now I canīt tell if it is the sound you want.

Cheers!
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

Hi Kiichi

Thanks for the quick response.

I like the heavier stuff and am looking for a big, aggressive but defined sound, a pickup that will offer both great rhythm and lead tones. The neck pickup I thought sounded especially good, given I don't normally mess with it.

I typically play through a 6L6 Engl 670, which has huge bottom end.

Cheers!

James.
