swapping magnets
« on: October 13, 2013, 07:07:31 PM »
Hi all,

I'm using a set of A2 humbuckers and have a couple of different manufacturer's A2 magnets that could be swapped in.

Just wondering if anyone has done any comparisons between the same grade of magnet from different sources.

Does polished versus rough sand-cast make a notable difference?

Is it more a case of the magnet gauss that would cause any discernible change?

Anyone?

Head over to the seymour duncan forum. THat lot are magnet swapping fanatics you should get your answers there.

I personally tried different ceramic & alnico magnets in pickups and found the only thing that makes a difference when swapping between the same type is the actual size of the magnet.
