Looking for a certain pedal

Hey guys, i'm looking for a pedal, in specific a overdrive pedal that has the standard TS type circuit, but with control over the bass, mids, and treble. Obviously to be used to boost a high gain amp.

Right now i'm using a OD9+ Pro on the boost setting, I also have a OD808 but I prefer the feel of the OD9, and then using a GE-7 to cut the lowest of bass just a little bit and to boost the mids slightly, the problem is this particular pedal is $%&#ed up and the sound of it has always kind of annoyed me.

The closest pedal I have found through searching tonight is the BB preamp-MB (mid-boost), i'm wondering what other pedals with the requirements I need are out there.

Which pedal is the problem, the overdrive or the EQ?  I have an MXR 6-band EQ which I thought might be good for something like this but it turned out to be noisy junk

Is the bb preamp based on a tubescreamer?  Im not sure what to suggest if it has to be based on a tubescreamer but you cant go wrong with any thing made by xotic  but therell be quite a excellent overdrive pedals where you can mess with the bass frequencies.  Id have a look at wampler's stuff best overdrives ive heard by far to my ears

Did a bit of googling, Catalinbread used to do an OD called the silverkiss. From what I'm reading it's basically a TS with separate Bass Mid and treble controls. there's a MkI and MKII, the MkI is big, the MkII is typical single footprint MXR size.

The EQ, the on/off switch is pretty much falling off/destroyed and it does indeed have some shitety noise problems.

I'm probably going to buy the Way Huge Green Rhino and Maxon ST9+ Pro, maybe just the Maxon.

I'm also looking for a delay pedal for high gain leads, i've never been much of a lead player but i'm the only guitarist in my band, and I don't really like playing leads through a dry signal, would prefer a Wah or Delay pedal thrown in there.. I have a MXR Carbon Copy but I much prefer it for cleans than through distortion. Research has lead to the Boss DD-3, but I found the ProTone Delay pedal interesting, it has a volume boost feature for when using high gain, it is quite expensive though.

I'm wondering if there are any delay pedals out there you guys like for high gain leads, with cool features like that.

I like my Carbon Copy, but it's the first delay I've had and I don't have another one to compare it to.

Do you have it in your loop?  Mine is last in line before the MXR/CAE boost pedal and then the loop return.  The boost just kicks up the volume to the preamp, the CC is the last pedal to change the sound

If you have a loop I'd try the Carbon Copy there before spending money on a new pedal.  Even if you don't like the chorus or whatever there you might prefer the delay there

And I want to have two delays pedals, I don't want to have to completely change settings when I want to switch from clean to lead.

Well you could test it out using a couple of patch leads and sitting it on top of your amp, activating it with your finger.  This will help you work out if it's worth getting a couple of longer leads! From memory your amp is a high gain one like mine and those are the ones that benefit most from having this kind of effect in the loop, so that it is after all of the gain stages.

I have an EQ, noise suppressor, chorus, delay, and boost in my Peavey's loop and I will soon add a flanger between the noise suppressor and the chorus.  My other pedals are out front, including a phaser, which is after the overdrive (which has the gain set to zero).  Some pedals definitely sound better out front, while others sound better in the loop.  It's good to have a choice

I haven't really experimented with the loop vs out front that much, and I have no power source if I put the pedal up to the amp head.

Just be careful though ... yesterday I put one in my pocket and by the time I walked 50m out to the garage it was very hot in my pocket ... seems it made a circuit with the screwdriver and bottle opener in my pocket.  It could have ruptured and burned my leg very badly.  I threw it on the lawn to cool down and then disposed of it a couple of hours later.  Made me very wary now about how I store them in my guitar parts box!

Don't all TS-derivative circuits boost the mids and compress?  That's why you'll see TS clones with Bass/Treble EQ knobs but no mids knob, because it would be pointless.

I don't really know how close it is to a tubescreamer, but the Marshall Guv'nor has a 3 band EQ.  If you're wary of Marshall's current Mk II version, a little Spanish company called Thundertomate do a version of it called the OD800.
