New pickups for an Ibanez RG
« on: October 29, 2013, 05:48:19 PM »
Hello forum dwellers, Perhaps you can help me...

I've been contemplating changing the picks-ups on my Ibanez RG(3270 I believe) for some time now; and bare knuckle pickups have been brought up favorably many times in my research. So I've decided to take the plunge. But this has left me with my question: "which ones should I get?".

The majority of the time I play covers of Protest the hero, human abstract and BTBAM. So pickup combos that will achieve these kind of tones would be my ideal. Here's a link incase you dont know/need a reminder of the tone:    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0VbUogHhKU

Any guidance on this matter would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Leo

I think the ceramic nailbomb would work well maybe the cold sweat too but im a much bigger fan of the nailbomb in general.

IIRC, BTBAM starting using blackhawks recently.  I'm not sure if it's alnico or ceramic though.  I believe there's a video where one of them talks about it.
