Warpig in combination with alder/maple?
« on: October 29, 2013, 07:27:00 PM »
I might have a new ( old ) guitar coming my way in some time, and was wondering how a C-Pig would sound in it in the bridge position ( since I still have one in a guitar that I don't use a lot and probably am going to sell ).
It's a BC Rich assassin, with an alder body and maple neck.
I will also be playing in B standard, with strings from gauge 12 - 60, I like to play different kinds of extreme metal such as oldschool deathmetal, brutal deathmetal ( not too technical ), blackmetal, grindcore, and also a bit of thrash.

I've had a warpig ( cant remember if its a C or A pig ) in a thin mahogany jackson SLSMG a year ago or so, and that totally kicked ass, sounded much better than in the guitar that I've got the C-Pig in bridge position now ( an Ibanez RGD, basswood body ) so I'm very curious how it would sound in that BC Rich.

I know I could just wait until I have the guitar, and then swap it in, but the thing is I'm not a great tech at swapping pickups nor at adjusting floyds ( I actually rather leave that to a real guitartech ) and I would have to let the BC Rich be adjusted for my tuning/stringgauge and let the bridge pickup be swapped with a better pickup anyway. It would just save some time and money for me if I would know how it would kinda sound like before going the whole process  :).
