neck pickup advice

Hi, I need an advice for choose a neck pickup.

I'm building a custom 7strings, neck-true. The body is maple/bubinga/maple/bubinga/maple, and the "wings" of the body are mahogany.

I play a sort of melodic death metal, some death/thrash. For the bridge pickup i was thinking about the warpig ceramic, because i need precision and i read somewhere that is more chirurgic than the alnico, correct me if i'm wrong.

For the neck i really dont know; i switch on neck position for the solos, and i like a warm sound. Any advice?

I have a Warpig set (my bridge is the alnico version) and I would describe the WP neck as warm and clear, but not great for cleans if you have a typical high-gain metal amp like mine (Peavey).

Some people combine the Cold Sweat neck with the Warpig bridge, even though there is a big difference between the two in output (this can be compensated for somewhat by moving the neck closer to the strings).  The lower output will give you a true clean sound on the neck. Apparently the Rebel Yell neck is a warmer sounding version of the Cold Sweat neck.  If you are not worried about cleans I would suggest going for a matching set of Warpigs.  You can also install a switch (e.g., a push-pull pot or triple shot pickup rings) to allow for coil split and/or series/parallel options on either pickup, but it might be most useful for you on the neck.

I've spoken to Tim about bridge and neck pickups for when arent a match with regards to output and he says the same as long as you raise/lower the pickups appropriately it shouldnt be a problem. 

The cold sweat neck pickup is arguably 'the best' or the 'pro choice' for soloing from classic rock to shred but from what ive heard you may also want to consider the aftermath neck sadly ive ive not heard enough of it though but its in the misha mansoor/john petrucci ballpark (Apparently).  The black hawk neck and the juggernaut neck would work too as theyre both fluid and warm.

The warpig neck will definitely be warm though and will be compressed for metal soloing because of the output I just wonder if itll get muddy but having said that im sure and overdrive pedal would solve that IF need be.

thanks for the advices! i think i will go to the cold sweat, the description in the website it's very appealing. i will search something online if i can find some examples of the tone.
