Mim strat - set for classic sounds
« on: November 13, 2013, 04:24:26 PM »
Hi there,

I am looking for pups (set) for my 2013 mim standart strat (alder body and rosewood fretboard). Id like to go to a tone thats sort of in the region of gilmoure, sayce, clapton - glassy, smooth, hot, strat sound. The guitar has a good sound as a basis, but I think it needs the right pups to get what I want.

I want to play blues, rock, classic rock. So clean, crunchy and overdrive.

There are several sets that - when reading the descriptions - might fit and I am fairly unsure which one to get. Any input/recommendation is appreciated.

Thanks

Hi and welcome!

For Clapton and Gilmour I would look at Slowhands. They're a bit hotter and middier than a classic early sixties stratsinglecoil and provide enough beef for a smooth solotone.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.
