A while back, documented in
this thread, I managed to get my grubby mud forks on a 1993 Hamer Special. At the time, Jonathan from Feline mentioned that pairing a "Blue Note" neck with a "Nantucket" bridge worked really well and that's what I ended up with. Mr Law even fitted them for me. Since then the guitar has become my favourite single coil guitar and I thought, as there are so few P90 demos around, that I'd try and do one.
I also thought I'd like to get something from Juan Solo's "Darkside" pedal on tape/hard-disk too, as it's become something of a staple on my pedal board; more so than his equally beautifully made "Klonish", which I also have. I've mostly been using the "Darkside" with my DGT: those through the Cornell are
just the sound I want, but I've also really taken to the slightly Tele-ish, very angry Albert Collins (ish) tone that the Nantucket and the Hamer get through the same set-up.
Anyway, hopefully this might be useful for anyone interested in BKP vintagey P90s and Hamers. P90s really don't get enough love, they are terrific pickups and much more versatile than my clip suggests.
