Take em off.

They serve no purpose and it sounds better without them in.

+1 on this. Also change the volume pot to 1M too
+2 Rather have the brightest fullest sound going into the amp then shape it there as needed, if I had use for a tone knob I'd rather it be in a pedal so I can just click it on/off than worry about twiddling knobs when I'm trying to play at the same time

What affect does a 1M volume pot have? I've forgotten

Makes things brighter. You need 250k for SCs as 500k would be too bright and 500k for HBs as 250k would be too dull (generally speaking). Up to 1M and you get even brighter sound. Some people seem to like it on the WP especially.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid

I have a volume pot BYPASS on my Warpig guitar.  It does make a difference - probably similar to a 1Meg pot - but I'm not sure that it is that useful.  500K seems bright enough (which is the value of my pots unbypassed).

I don't use the tone knob, but I want it on the guitar as I feel it fattens up the treble strings. Without it they can sound harsh and thin to my ears. I have one guitar without a tone knob and I considered soldering a capacitor to the volume control to mimic the load effect of the tone poti.
