« on: May 14, 2005, 07:18:16 PM »
Hey Tim, you mentioned about some up and coming BKP models that are going to release in November.

Are you keeping the details a closely guarded secret, known only to those sworn to the inner circle of BKP, or are you able to give us some idea of what we might expect?

I wont tell..... Promise.....

MMM
Im sorry to be persistant...but I'm on a mission to build the most badass guitar of all time.

I may just be kidding on one of those...

Yeah! I mean all you need to sound like Ace Frehley is a Les Paul and a Marshall!

I never 'got' Maiden either. Kiss and Maiden are both a little over the top. They're Spinal Tap squared :?  They're good musicians but how are you gonna take 'em seriously? :gne:

I'm just doing R&D on a new set of 'Cold Sweat' humbuckers- a mid powered  distortion humbucker in the vein of the early Dirty Fingers. What I've done is try to get rid of the mid spikes but retain the power.
I'm gigging them at the moment and I'm really pleased with them.
More soon! PDT_045

Hey Doogz,I play test everything for along time before we commit it to the product range we offer.I need to know how a pickup plays live and in the studio-thoroughly-so I can stand square behind it. I wind lots of variants of a pickup before settling on what I'm after and I'm also on the look out for how different winds react to different timber/construction too so I can tweak winds to players requirements where possible.
At the end of the day it's in the ears as much as the hands, just like playing!!

Thats good Tim, nice to know the products are well experimented with...

heres a question, generally , through the testing process, how many changes are made??? if so are many serious ones??

Cheers,

Oh yes...I'm not afraid to abandon an idea if it's going nowhere but generally once I've got  a decision made on the magnet, it's down to settling on the best wind/wire combo for the job. It often changes and I even tweak designs once we're making them if I find a better way, for instance a changed the Miracle Man wind jsut a few months ago. Not that it was bad but I found a slightly better wind-we're only talking minor adjustments, tweaks nothing major.
