2 bkp's to try in mayones setius .which to try 1st ?
« on: December 16, 2013, 07:46:58 AM »
Ok so I just got a 2nd hand mayones setius. Mahog body with maple cap. Mahog and maple neck with rosewood fretboard.

Coming up on holidays so gonna bounce some of bkp's into it to try from what I have.  Neck I'll put the nailbomb neck that I have in. No debate there. For the bridge I have an Apig and a miracle man. The MM I Have tried  in a couple of guitars and never loved it but I think the mahogany may really make it work. The Apig I have liked in 2 guitars but am worried it will maybe to too muddy in mahogany but after googling it sounds like it can work

Bridge is for high gain chunk on a dual recto. Not brutal. More perfect circle/Kataonia style stuff in drop D . Big , wide , full high gain sounds.

What you reckon ? Try the MM first or the Apig ?
Maton- jazz/JB
Cole Clark -NB Neck ,  Apig
Mayones Setius - Juggs
Et Guitars Katana 7 -Juggs
Mesa Dual Rect
and more stuff

MM; it sounds like it's the better fit.
Current BKPs: Miracle Man, Nailbomb, Juggernaut, VHII

Apig could be too dark for a mahogany guitar. I would try the MM first.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

the MM shouldn't be far off anyway. just more modern and refined
it works well with rectifiers, on both drive and clean channels
splitted clean is sweet

just bumping  up my thread for any future Mayones setius searchers

finally got around to putting in the MM over the xmas break and it sounds great . I bought this Miracle Man 2nd hand cheap and tried it in 2 brighter guitars and never liked it . I  found it thin ,  but in this guitar it has a home for sure . over the jb has a bigggr ,tighter bottom end . less pokey upper mids  and plenty of nice highs to fill it out

sounds great

Yesterday I've finally pulled the trigger on a Emerals/Holy diver combo for my Mayo Setius, once they're in I'll let you know.
