I need Rebel Yells in sumfink. Maybe my Jem7VWH is the ticket, but i hope there is enough bass in the RB to work in the Ibanez. Most people use the RY in mahogany guitars.
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus

What sort of amp are you using?
The Rebel Yell has a really tight bottom so a guitar with a huge bottom is really ideal.  Les Pauls work well (Don't try it with a chambered LP) but I'm sure anything set neck / solid mahogany would be great.

Naturally that is the way to go, but this video says otherwise.

Using a Fractal Axe FXII at the moment, so more amps than i will ever need  :P

That video is definitely an accurate representation of that pickup.  If you want those very bright and even upper harmonics, that's what you'll get with a Rebel Yell.  There isn't much by way of bottom, even in that vid.

my next big purchase is still a gibson les paul custom. but i really dont know what i'll do for pickups. i'm sure i'll keep the stock ones in there for a little while. maybe they will grow on me. i mean, i doubt that highly but i have no idea what BK i'd put in there. i love the stockholms and i know it would work great in the LP but i would like to try something different too. and maybe its worth a shot trying the nailbomb again since it would be a very different set up this time. and maybe even go ceramic instead of alnico

A-Bomb on order!

I'm thinking of doing a Warmoth project over the summer (Or fall) as a grad present.  The goal will be to build something that can is versatile enough to cop some traditional tones but that it is more of a machine for heavier / modern sounds and lower tunings.  Nothing extreme tuning wise but lower than my other guitars, which are in E standard.
I'm thinking Juggs would work well but we'll see what I want to do when this actually moves head.  So far, I'm thinking either to put an Alder Soloist body with a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard, or to order the Maple Neck / Rosewood FIngerboard and a routed Alder Body blank.

I also was considering a mahogany neck / mahogany body blank (for Rebel Yells) but apparently Mahogany is a pain in the butt to finish.

I could get a basswood body (Soloist) / maple neck combo but I hear Basswood is soft and I'd need to do a solid finish.  I'm really thinking I'd like a semi - transparent stain / oil finish / or maybe a satin finish in an off black or cappuccino kind of colour.  Gold hardware and white open bobbins with gold screws.  Double humbucker / wood mounting pickups.

I like the mids.....it's all about the mids, but the bottom end i usually keep down anyway. I will have to email BKP for their view when i get the casharino together.

Yup, the Rebel Yell has a really REALLY tight bass with a huge focus in the mids / upper mids, and very sweet highs.  It particularly likes tonnes  of gain and really works well with the bottom heavy / low mid heavy modern high gain tones.

My issues with the pickup are related to a completely different style / application.

Covered in fingerprints (I really should have cleaned it better!), but you get the idea.

Dude...they are EMG. :o

Nobody on here uses EMG or at least admits to it

Anyway, you already have them, so you need to list your next purchase. You should already be thinking ahead.
