And so did my uncle, chose not to have kids, and now lives a great lifestyle... holidays all the time, every rock gig he wants (oh and he likes taking his nephew too :) )!

I've got some really string cat odour remover that came from Pets At Home, we've got two cats that piss on the doormat given half a chance, doesn't smell now we have the spray - and they haven't been near it since 'cause it gives off a scent they don't like!

Couple of options (if you cont. having to live "with" the cats).
Mothballs, cats hate em. Now, how you arrange them is another matter but crushed mothballs should make a feline take a wide birth.
If, on the other hand, getting them to favour 1 particular place is a better alternative, try hiding some catnip in an area. This should illicit feline addiction/interest in one spot.
Also, have heard (and this could be a tricky/messy one) that going to the local Zoo and talking to a friendly keeper might help. Yeah I know, sounds strange (and I am not volunteering lol, not got cat problem luckily anyway) but a small amount of "predator" urine is apparently a sure fire way to strike the fear of god into a feline!
Now how this would help with laundry (hmm, replace cat piss with tiger piss, good swap LOL) I have no idea, but interesting idea and great pub conversation lol.
"Hey what you get up to today?", "oh I went to the Zoo to collect Cougar piss" ROFLMAO

I was only kidding about kids Indy- I have two sons and I love em both more than anything in the world I can assure you and they'd have both laughed at my earlier comment- sadly they both live abroad.

They are nice "companions" you silly boy. My dog never shouts at me when I crank my amp ¬¬ He's probably scared of it actually now I mention it.. who knows.

Well I'm in 4 star luxury well away from the moggies for another week :)

I wouldn't mind the cats so much if the landlady was there (then she could clean up after the perverts), but she is truck driving these days (I kid you not) and seems to expect me to look after them.

I been told that cats hate the smell of citrus fruits, so I will be acquiring orange peel

I would go for tangerine peel but it starts me thinking of plastic bags, amyl nitrate and concative politicians.

I even had to find a babysiter for my strat while I was a way as I didn't want it getting soggy (I took the ric with me)

I like animals as long as they are treated as animals.

Buy a really loud valve amp (unless you already have one), switch it on, plug your guitar in, volume on zero, and turn the amp all the way up to 10. Cover it in catnip and wait for the cats to start playing near/around it. Then when they least suspect it, turn your guitar up and play as hard as you can. Then do the mothballs thing :D.
