Some new wiring diagrams
« on: January 04, 2014, 09:01:40 PM »
Hi!

For potentially interested people, I share here some wirings I designed for myself or for others on demand. (Of course, some of them might exist yet somewhere...)
Every wiring diagram is for using 2 humbuckers. The idea is always to achieve maximal versatility, while cancelling hum as often as possible (assuming pickup magnets are not reversed).
The detailed control effects are given on the wiring diagrams. (To stay short, when introducing them, I will only precise what they add to the standard/classical wiring.)

With 2 volume pot and 1 tone pot, you can split coils or put them in parallel, and reverse phase between both humbuckers:

With only 1 volume pot and 1 tone pot, still using a 3-way 1-pole toggle switch, you can choose between:
  • Coil splitting and coils in parallel
  • Coil splitting and reversed phase between humbuckers

With only 1 volume pot and 1 tone pot, but using a 4-way toggle switch (like the one available on BKP website), you can choose between:
  • Using the toggle switch to put the HBs in parallel or in series, and the push/pull pots to have either coil splitting and coils in parallel
  • Using the toggle switch to put the HBs in parallel or in series, and the push/pull pots to have either coil splitting and reversed phase between humbuckers
  • Using the toggle switch to put the HBs in parallel or with reversed phase and in series, and the push/pull pots to have either coil splitting and coils in parallel

Cool, thanks mate! I think I might use that 1 1 1 split parallel very soon on something...
