But I don't want the amp reinvented. Quite happy with how it is.

It's not the first time an amp company have claimed a coming revolution.

I'll believe it when I see it :)

I went hunting for this when I saw this thread. There's not much info, but to be fair to them, the ad-line on their site isn't about reinventing the amp... it's about how they've reinvented the amp... AGAIN

I dunno, I've got quite a lot of their stuff, I don't use most of it regularly now, but I do have a sneaking regard for what they're trying to do. I'm more than happy using an amp or a modellor, whatever gets the job done...

However, if I was gigging and wanted an "amp", I'd probably still use a conventional valve amp.

The drummer in my band has a Line 6 amp and quad box.  The cab is fine as far as it goes, but the head is horrible.  Solid state with modelling, you can't even get a decent clean channel.  I had to play through it at practice once and it was totally horrible, and I couldn't even make it listenable by plugging my Distortion+ into the clean channel.

If this new technology is anything related to that I'll stick to my tube amps thanks

Exactly that`s what I thought. Just keep in mind, that in guitar/amp market, us-customers are really fussy, demanding and devoted to the 'tradition' that has shaped overall tone in our heads throughout years and numerous of classic records. It will be really hard to push those boundaries and astonish us (and sell the new product) with something new and 'reinvented'.

On the other hand let`s take that Gibson Robo-guitar that tune itself automatically, or Fender V strat (something like Line 6 Variax) or other hi-tech innovations. If you compare sales figures of those mentioned above to classic constructions, hi-tech gadgets  fall behind big time. It shows you something.

ps. does anyone remember that Gibson Robo? Yeah... exactly. :D
