Can i use longlegs on my guitar?

Hey, i just bougth a Miracle Man bridgepos for my Esp Eclipse II.. The MM has longlegs. can i actually use it on my ESP?? the "cover" where the pickup should be put into its twice as thick/big as the neck"cover".. its like a cover or a frame. cant find the word for it.

Most guitars will take only short leg as the cavity is not deep enough. You need to pull the existing one out to see if it's long leg.

MM is different eq than the JB. The JB can be very muddy also, especially in mahogany, so the MM should be much clearer.

Yeah,thats my issue with them. It just sounds muddy in the midrange and low end area..  My neck is just extreme brilliant. its a BL 500r. Sounds just awesome. so it will be very cool with a combination with a MM.

So there is no other way to tell other tan take of strings and check? i just restringed yesterday with a pyramid/thomastik infeld hybrid, so im not so keen on take my strings off to check. But i thougth that if the "case/frame" that the pickup is gonna sit in is thicker than the neckcase/frame, a long leg should fit?

Really not sure if it will fit. I bet that a pm to BKP will clear this up for you with an email.
Anyway, you could slack the strings right down and still work on the pickups. Might be tight to pull them but it's possible.

All of my BKPs are long leg, because my guitars are Gibsons and Epiphones.  I think most other guitars have a shallower cavity and need short leg pickups.  The reason for long leg pickups is generally the bridge slot on Gibsons, due to the neck angle requiring the bridge pickup to be jacked up. It would be good if BKP offered sets with an option of a short leg pickup for the neck, as that would give more options in terms of swapping the neck pickups out to other guitars.  I'm pretty sure Gibsons only use the deep neck cavity so that they can get away with using the same pickup housing for neck and bridge.

The Eclipse seems pretty Les Paul-ish to me, with the TOM bridge, neck angle and all.

I would bet that a long leg bridge humbucker will fit... but not 100% sure.

If it does though, I recomend short legs for the neck when you replace it with a Cold Sweat ;)

By the way, the word you are missing is what we call the pickup ring.

Long leg should be good in the bridge of an Eclipse

In my experience most long leg pickups fit in the bridge spot due to the fact that on most guitars the pickup ring is higher for the bridge pickup. With neck pickups it can be difficult though. When in doubt go short leg.
