Which bucker for a mustang???
« on: March 14, 2006, 05:58:49 PM »
I´m looking for a high power hb to put in my custom mustang. It´s got a korina body, maple/ebony neck and a tune-o-matic bridge.
24" scale guitars tend to get quite muddy with lots of distorsion (I play black metal) so I would like to counteract that somehow.
Any suggestions which one to choose?

A Warpig or a Miracle Man. The Warpig is ultimately suited for black metal.

Oh, and welcome.

I'd recommend a Miracle Man, due to the tighter bass response.

I too would reccomend the Miracle man for its high end sizzle, tight bass and note clarity. You can easily produce Emperor/Immortal tones with it.
Perfect for high speed tremelo!

Hi,

If the guitar is muddy sounding I might look at a ceramic magnet pickup, maybe a ceramic Warpig?

What´s the difference tonewise between the ceramic and the alnico warpig?
I had an emg-81 in it before, but it sounded too god damn lifeless (actually that may be a quality for some blackmetal, but I prefer something with a little soul to reap, haha!).

The Miracle Man is like an EMG81 WITH SOUL.

The Miracle Man is ceramic, isn't it?  Should keep even a pretty muddy guitar pretty tight at gain.  My tastes would lean more towards the Warpig, but the MM sounds like the right tool for the job here.

Warpig has the grit that Black Metal needs but the Miracle Man is tighter in the bass and to that extent it has similar performance to an 81 but tonally it's alot more comlex with better bite.
