What kind of crazy tuning is a 9-string guitar? - is it all low string extension, or treble extension too?

Treble extension maybe, with the "canine" reference. The new way to annoy your pet dog, buy a guitar that can produce sounds that only he can hear.

Ca-nine, very clever....

Probably something along the lines of a 9-string Black Dog, I'm guessing?

would be interesting if it was similar to a black dog, but when i look at this guitar, i just see a metal machine.

Well, BKP's official description of the BD does say:

Quote
The Black Dog humbuckers are also particularly good at providing extra definition and punch to extended scale guitars. Seven string and baritone guitars benefit from better control of the highs and increased definition in the bass.

I wonder if these are going to be production versions of the 9 and 10 string pickups made for Skervesen guitars? If they are, the Skervesen guys said the 10 string prototype was similar to an Aftermath.
