took the guitar to practice. this thing sounded SO good. such great low end and really screamed on my 5150 amp. the audio from my phone is not great but i figured it was better than nothing.

i really dont know to be honest. i'd like to know as well. the only downside in my opinon, is when buying a covered version of this pickup, it has the double row of adjustable poles so it doesnt look like the traditional pickup with just the outer poles showing through the cover

That was great!

Finally a non-djent clip so that we can tell what it sounds like playing other stuff

Thing that impresses me is how fast you went from being nervous about doing your own pickup changes to soldering pickups and pots in and out like it was no bother at all!  Great work

yeah no kidding. its been saving me so much money. next i need to learn how to set the nut. i use 10-52s and the nut keeps pinching the strings. even lubing the nut with some graphite isnt enough. trying to just carefully file it right now.

Setting up nuts and bridges is something I prefer to leave to tech.  I don't have the finesse

That first clip is really good and helpful

Cool!  Glad I could help.  It's definitely got that compressed sort of sound kind of like the aftermath but it's so much more than that.

it apparently has almost the same specs as the aftermath, but it's underwound in comparison and has a hybrid magnet configuration

Yeah I definitely get that vibe from it.  It's a little on the "dry" side but not like the after math

sounded well. the other guitarist uses a seymour duncan invader so it mixed quite well. even though the pickup is a little on the "metal" side compared to what we play. still sounded great

just installed the juggernaut into the orange strat and it sounds VERY good. i dont have time to post any videos right now but i'll post one soon. just know that it works really well in the darker toned alder. keeps it balanced possibly better than the les paul did but i'll let you know after i've played it a bit more. also, i've noticed this pickup is very sensitive to how hard you pick. if you're gentle, it sounds so different than if you strum hard. very dynamic pickup.

i'll definitely update you guys soon!

That's interesting to read, even though I for now have settled on the Black Dog for my dark alder strat.

Cheers Stephan

Great job.

What neck/fingerboard does your Strat have? Sorry, don`t remember it now :D

So basically you can confirm that pickup sounds better in lower tunings than standard?

There`s no much difference tone-wise between alder and swamp ash apart from the fact that ash might have less mids, is that right? Both woods are pretty much similar and well balanced.
