I suppose I'll get used to it, but it's frustrating how they basically just drop you in at the deep end and expect you to cope. And the way they send new computers and software nowadays.... almost no paperwork, no "instruction manual" to speak of. This new PC supposedly has a trial version of Microsoft Office on it, for example, but Dell don't provide an activation key so I can't even access it (unless I am just being spectacularly thick....)
Yes, we're all now used to learning by trial and error I suppose, but there's so much that you just never learn or even become aware of.
I had a look at that "Vistart" Jamie mentioned, it looks OK but with things like that I worry that they're going to cause problems with Windows updates etc?
I'll probably just save some shortcuts to the desktop and then go straight to desktop from that stupid "apps screen" or whatever the hell they call it.
