Converting Archtop
« on: January 28, 2014, 03:15:37 PM »
Hello, This is my first post , although been lurking for a while. Would be grateful for any recommendations...basically have squired an old EKO archtop guitar and would like to add one pickup , one volume. Tone I'm looking for is big , ballsy and throaty...kinda gritty Malcom Young .
Grateful for your time and advice.

Kind Regards, John

Hi and welcome!

I would pick a P90 for that, like a Nantucket or the humbuckersized Mississippi Queen.
Mules, VHII, Crawler, MM's, IT's, BG50's.

Will that one pickup be in the bridge or neck position?

Cheers Stephan

I have not yet played one but I guess the Riff Raff has not got its name for nothing.
