Pickup for Jackson Kevin Bond
« on: January 28, 2014, 05:45:33 PM »
I have a Kevin Bond and it has a humbucker in the bridge only, what pickup would you suggest?

Guitar is
Mahogany Body and Neck
Ebony Fretboard

I am looking for something versatile but can do distortion well also since I will be playing some Children of Bodom style playing on it.

Thanks.

Well, could you more specific about what you're looking for ? You want crushing mids ? Attack ? Tightness above all ? What amp do you use ?

My first suggestion would he the black hawk, as that's what the closest to an EMG character-wise (with the quality of a BKP of course). It should also nicely match the guitar.

Ok, I use a Peavey 5150 combo, I am a fan of mids and some treble, so something kind of equal and I like when my notes sound clear and distinct from each other (I know most of it is in the hands) I like good response also, thanks.
