Maton MS500 and MS503 Mastersounds
« on: February 12, 2014, 07:58:42 PM »
I have both of these guitars.  The pickups are a funny size.  Does anyone know if theres a BKP that works with them?

Does anyone know if its possible to have the current ones rewound?

THe pickups aren't very good, so I'd like to make the upgrade.  They are great guitars to play.  I love em!!  Just not the pickups

The MS500 has a small humbucker at the bridge and a small humbucker looking single coil

Bridge Pick Up:
MVHB (Coil Tapped)
 Magnets - Ceramic 850G
 Coils - 2 x 7.5k

Neck Pick Up:
MVSC
 Magnet - Ceramic 750G
 Coil - 7.5k

Controls:
Master Volume
 Master Tone
 Coil tap bridge pick up
 3 way rotary selector switch

MS503 has 2  humbuckers.  I don't know if they are normal size

I have a ms2000 and have used a few BKP's in it fine

not sure on the 500 as they do look a werid shape. My mate had a MS500 or a 503, not sure which it was a few years ago , and put dizmarzio's in it but had mroe covential looking , uncovered buckers  in it stock. If dizmarzio's go in BKP's will

email maton and ask if they are standard sized pick up rings . they are decent at answering emails . a few days

Thanks for that.  THey seem an odd size.  I will email tomorrow.

The MS2000 was an amazing guitar.  I regret not buying one of them too when I went to the factory!!
