Long story, simple question: Pig 90
« on: March 01, 2014, 02:38:26 AM »
I have an old Hoyer SG copy that I put some Warpigs into.  I really dig the sound enough that I want to modify my old Les Paul.

I am thinking about putting some Pig 90s into my old Les Paul Deluxe but I don't want to if they don't cancel hum.  I run a Rectoverb with some higher gain settings so I need to keep noise to a minimum.

Pardon my ignorance, but is the Pig 90 a true single coil or is it a stacked pickup like the Duncan STK-P1?

It's a true single coil, a real P-90.

Are you looking to get one in the regular P-90 style, or in the humbucker-sized format.  The latter would be a special order that might or might not be possible.  I've heard of ceramic magnets being fitted too.

If it's going into a deluxe then it will need to be a soapbar P-90.
So many pickups, so little time
