My experimental pedal board continues. Need to stop spending my hard earned cash, but when there's a plan in mind, its hard not to act on it.
The new pedal is an Electro Harmonix Bass Big Muff. The idea is to thicken the sound of my octave pedal and get some more growl and high end.
In fact, it works in that application perfectly, and there's loads of settings for different kinds of thick bass tones that sound very good. The blend/normal/boost switch is really handy. A few ways to get some hairy fuzz and keep the low end.
I tried it with normal guitar and I don't like it particularly, its ok I guess.. But then I don't like fuzz really. But its quite nice for leads, there's a couple of good sounds, particularly with fender single coils. Good sustain, grainy sound.
I might get some more pedals yet, some sort of looper, a tuner and maybe some midi bass pedals. I'll get into this fuzz, let my bank balance recover and see what comes along on eBay.
