great vid, one of the few i've seen of jimmy actually playing well. it's incredible to think it was 45 years ago, they really knew what they were doing.

I think they had something way beyond their years. Plus Jimmy knew how to pick a gig shirt.

I think they had something way beyond their years.

Agreed, but I also think rock bands/musicians have an energy, a magic in their youth which just isn't there any more when they get older, no matter how much they "improve" as musicians and songwriters.

I keep buying new albums from the same old bands I was into 35 years ago, and some of them are still really good, but all those bands are still primarily known and revered for what they did in the early days.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

I'm being a bit of an anorak here, but I think he's using an old Wem wah.  I used to have one and I regretted getting rid of it.  It is silver coloured and the jacks are on the wrong side (look at the cables).  The closest I've got in sound is the old Jem wah's with the film cap inductors.

It also shows how much John Paul Jones kept the song going, just listen as they come out of the solo part.
So many pickups, so little time
