Hiya guys,

Lot of guitarists recently have been going on about low tunings and all that but I never got the distorted sound. (Never as heavy as dimebag in std tuning no matter how low you tune). However I wanted to explore it........and I like it.

Using my Rg550rxx,  bareknuckle crawler (neck), blackstar ht studio20.
Enjoy my vid with my massive knees in!

I like the video

I terms of your comments on distortion and low tuning I will say this:

I like Eb standard (early Slayer), D standard (my own band, Doom, various others), and C# standard (mid '70s Black Sabbath).  C standard (Autopsy, Entombed) is good for death metal, and I quite like the B tuning that Gronibard uses, but myself I would never write songs in those tunings.  As you can see though as you go lower you are getting more and more specialized.

Most heavy metal bands of the '80s (Celtic Frost, Metallica, Destruction, Judas Priest, even Pantera) used standard tuning and sounded very heavy with it.

Yeah man Eb std is becoming a fave of mine due to g n r, extreme and hendrix.

I think we agree on the term "heavy"
