Hey there!
I've got 2 guitars in need of new Pup's. Not really sure which one's to buy...
The first is my new JP6 I just got, I love it. But I've used the Crunch Lab Liquifire set for a long time for time and it's leaves me wanting more, even more so in this guitar. It's abit muddy, and leaves me wanting more clarity. I like the mid range crunch. Lacks abit of punch and the high end isnt anything to write home about. The guitar is Basswood body, Maple neck bolted on, rosewood fretboard, and it has a trem.
I've been checking out the Aftermath, and The Holydiver bridge and VHII neck. I've been really interested in the VHII neck.
For the bridge I need tight, punchy, clear, and decently hot. Something that "djents" well. Good chord clarity. But I also need to be versatile, I use that guitar in a Emo band as well. (I know it's alot to ask of a pick up).
For the neck, I just need a good clean pick up. I've been looking at the VHII because I noticed the Safety Fire using it and I really like their clean tone. It's smooth and super clear.
The Second guitar is my LTD SCT-607b. Alder, maple neckthru, ebony fretboard. The EMG's are awful, no dynamics, fizzy, thin, muddy, and WAY to dark. It sounds like a blanket is over that guitar. I just need a good punchy hot Djenty pick up in the bridge thats clear and has "purr", and a good clean neck pick up that will match well with the bridge. I've been looking at the Aftermath for that guitar but I've heard it'll sound to thin.
Thanks for any help.
