quick wiring question

i just need a simple bit of wire to connect the input jack to the pot of a guitar. will any stranded wire do? i think i have some 22 or 26 gauge laying around.

Yes, but what are you going to do with the ground?  You can use single wire for both (Fender do this), but I prefer to have screened wire between the jack & volume.

yeah i havent seen fender do this now that i think about it. gibson definitely. i suppose it never really had any negative affect on me. plus i'll have the ground from the bridge and from the body so i think itll be fine
