I've had a couple of those satin finished mahogany PRS models (a Singlecut and a Standard 22). I read reviews which claimed the thin satin finish helped the guitars "breathe" and feel more resonant, but I actually found both of mine were quite muffled and woolly-sounding.
I ended up selling both those guitars, but I thought a slightly hotter, relatively tight pickup with a decent amount of bass might've improved things. I was going to try Cold Sweats, but I reckon your Emerald idea could work too - and would be a bit closer to the vintage tone of the Riff Raff. I'n not sure if the Emerald necessarily has "more" bass than the Riff Raff, but I think the extra bit of power would help.
