MQ/Pig 90 rock track
« on: July 25, 2014, 10:41:07 AM »
Just finished this, started ages ago and only just got round to it as seems to be the way with all my stuff recently  It's a Pig 90 with the volume rolled down slightly, in an all mahogany LP Custom. Straight into a Laney GH50L and G12H30 2x12, then an SM57. I think I used the neck MQ on the same amp settings with the volume rolled down more for a cleaner tone.

Sounds great... Looking to replace the P90's in my Yamaha SG1802GT.
It has SD Hot P90 in, but want a little lower output and more clarity.

Trying my first BK pups on saturday. My custom tele is ready with BG50's

I should say this is the humbucker size version of the Pig 90. Probably my favourite pickup, it's really versatile. Also used both pickups in this track, this was the same setup but in my SG https://soundcloud.com/tom_the_beast/160311-2

Volume rolled down for the intro/chords and up full for the chorus riff. Solo is the MQ neck with the volume on full. I didn't change the amp settings at all so the different sounds are just different volume levels on the guitar.
