Painkiller in Peavey Vandenberg?
« on: July 27, 2014, 09:13:56 PM »
I have a 1990 Peavey Vandenberg (poplar, kahler trem) that I want to use for 80's metal.  I'm probably asking a stupid question here, but how will the painkiller do?  I have one I had in a LP and I wasn't especially happy about that combo.

PK is highly middy. Crushing mids and tight bass end, if that is what you want. What tuning?

Btw, why did you not like the PK in the LP?
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus

Forgot I posted the one.  The PK in the LP was teamed wih a Cold Sweat in the neck and they didn't mesh like Id hoped.  I went with a full CS set instead.  I will just give the PK a spin in the Peavey and see what it sounds like.
