Ha! Right, of course. Hence ::modern tone:: I figured you meant modelling amps in general, not Axe FX specifically which is now what many guitarists are using. I think these guys get that 'djent' sound regardless of what they play through and part of that is due to the EQ of the amps they use, the low tunings, and the way they play their guitars. But for sure, the Juggernaut definitely has that tonal character about it. It's sort of a love / hate thing, I gather.
I managed to achieve a somewhat different tone with the juggs through a more vintage / british voiced amp but with a recto, it can't help but sound really modern.
In my band, I'm running a recto with a super strat loaded with Juggernauts and the other guitarist uses a Mark V with a Jackson Rhoads and a dimebucker in the bridge. Needless to say, our tones are quite different but that works to our advantage because each guitar sits in it's own frequency band.
