Nailbomb in a jazzmaster?
« on: August 22, 2014, 10:54:54 AM »
Hello guys! I have a Fender Blacktop Jazzmaster a few months ago. As you may guess the stock pups are alright but nothing mind blowing. So I was wondering would it sound good if I put an alnico Nailbomb in the bridge position? I've heard that it can get too bright when it's in an alder body but id be happy to hear your thought.

If in doubt regarding too bright I would consider the Holy Diver and Crawler pickups.

What kind of sound are you looking for?
BLACK HAWKS
IMPULSES
COBRA-T
WAR PIGS
STOCKHOLM
COLD SWEATS
MIRACLE MAN
TRUE GRIT

Well I have a self-made Tom Delonge Squire so I'd like the jazzmaster to more versatile. I mainly use high gain sounds but I don't want it to be as muddy and gainy as the SD Invader. And also I'm thinking of adding a push pull to the Nailbomb so it can split. Oppinion on that?

Have you seen this Jazzmaster thread?

Besides Nailbomb has a reputation of splitting well, although the Crawler has the best rep for that.

You might also want consider the alnico Warpig and the Juggernaut.
