Painkller 7 Set in Basswood - Metal
« on: August 29, 2014, 06:27:10 AM »
I've been working on a new tune, using both my LTD M-207 w/ Painkillers and my Agile Septor 828, still with the stock pickups; been doing some research on what BKPs to put in the 8-string and I thought, this tune is working out pretty well, and uses the PK's pretty much full range, top to bottom, and there aren't too many samples of PK's in basswood, so... here it is!

Apologies for the the mix... I stripped out the other guitar, did some creative panning, and brought the drums and bass way down to show off the pickups more... once I finish the tune, I'll post it, but I wanted this to just be about the Painkillers.

The guitar is a late 90's ESP/LTD M-207 (basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard); BKP Painkiller Bridge and neck (not a calibrated set); tuned drop-A
All rhythms are bridge, all melodies and cleans are neck; rhythm parts have a little delay, melodies have OD, a little flange, delay, and reverb; cleans have a little chorus, delay, and reverb
Amp is the Fender Mustang Floor run into Reaper (DAW) via USB, using a self-tweaked Metal2000 (EVH5150) patch; all effects are via the Mustang Floor

Bass is a Brice HXB-406 6-string, stock Cepheus pickups, tuned drop-A

Drums are Drumwerks/BetaMonkey samples into the Hydrogen drum machine software (amazing samples and loops, check them out if you don't know them!)

Enjoy!
