Just curious: Any Wolfgang owners changed pups?
« on: August 31, 2014, 01:21:52 AM »
Hi guys.

I just wondered if any Wolfgang owners had changed from the stock pickups, if so, to what and why?

Also, anything I should be wary of if I decide to swap the pickups in mine? I know they need the shaped mounting holes, but do they need a specific long/short leg length on the pickup etc?

An open ended question I know but I was just curious!

Thanks.

i dont own one (used to AAAAGES ago)  but if i did i'd go juggernaut all the way. wolfgangs are basswood right? juggs are supposed to be ideal in basswood.

I would pull the pickups out (at least far enough out to see the feet), measure the dimensions, take photographs, and trace the shape of the baseplates and feet.  That will form a baseline for working out whether the BKPs might hit.

From my experience BKP baseplates and feet tend to be quite square.

Thanks for the posts guys.

I think I know what I'm putting in them, just checking if I needed to be aware of leg length etc as I've not really done direct mounded pickups before.
