I also play better after a little break from playing e.g. a holiday.  Sometimes you just need to rest the brain and fingers and come back to it fresher.

Ha - no need to apologise. Each to their own! It's not my cup of tea at all!

It's not mine either really, in many ways I hate it and everthing it represents.

But somehow I feel an irresistible need to watch it every year.  I always think I'll watch the first few weeks of comedy auditions then give up, but I always end up waching the whole thing.

Once they get to the live shows, there's a grim fascination in watching the (very) rare birds with a bit of genuine talent having it mercilessly beaten out of them by the Cowell machine.  After all those themed shows - Elton John week, Michael Jackson week, Rock ( ) week, Swing ( ) week - the poor kids have lost all sense of their own identity.  All that's left is an album of ropey cover versions before being coldy dumped back on the scr@pheap.

No.  I wouldn't have ever started watching the X Factor if it wasn't (at least notionally) a "music talent" programme.  I don't watch shows just because they're low-IQ entertainment!

I did watch TOWIE for a while when it first started - but only out of curiosity because I know someone who's friends with many of the original cast.

I watched Towie once, was really boring for me, with Georgie Shore at least you get drunk Northern folk causing drama and getting off with each other

You'll get there

Though I was kinda expecting something more along the lines of "hey! it was loads easier than I expected - I've got a gig in Robert Plant's band now..." (or something along those lines )

I genuinely admire your dedication Elliot.

Speaking of Robert Plant, he always manages to find guitarists I've never heard of!  Every time he gets a new band I have to go and Google the members to find out who the hell they are.
