ThunderTomate Pedals
« on: September 04, 2014, 11:58:00 AM »
I know a few of us here have ThunderTomate pedals, especially the Phil Hilborne Fat Treble Booster.  I just visited the website to see what he had available at the minute, only to find he has stopped making pedals :(

Obviously, he can't keep the company going if it's not economically viable, but it's a shame.  They were great pedals, and two of his, the Fat TB and the Taxi Driver overdrive, are pretty much permanent fixtures in front of my amps.

thats really sad news :/

I have those two pedals as well - the Fat TB and Taxi Driver and I'm really happy with them. Some of my absolute favourites.

I got in touch with him about the Taxi Driver and he talked me through a few little mods I could do.

Wow, sad news indeed! I just used my ThunderTomate on a track 2 nights ago; such a killer boost.
Too bad they never worked out a deal w a big YouTube site like PGS or Andertons. I cannot imagine being a pedal maker today without a strong YouTube presence ... way too much competition!!

It seems his deal with Phil Hilborne is still in place, and for the time being the Fat TB is still available from Phil's site.  It's a pedal I'd totally recommend, so if anyone was thinking of one, I'd see about it soon while they're still available.  I might even consider a second one myself
