My First BKP Set for Suhr S3

Hey guys!

Brand new to Bare knuckle!  Hoping some knowledgeable folks can help with finding the right pups for my Suhr S3!

I play a broad range of styles (do a lot of the cover band things).

I like my SSH+ pickup but it's a little bit synthetic sounding, I want it to sound more organic. I hate the neck pickup at the moment, really brash sounding and very muddy (single coil)

I've got a new pickgaurd for H-S-H configuration.  Looking for some new Humbuckers!  I play through a Handwired VOX AC30, which is a fairly bright sounding amp, and use a Wampler pinnacle deluxe for all the dirty tones, and then stack a wampler Euphoria over drive and a tube screamer for more vintage style tones.
My guitar is Bass Wood, Maple Top, Maple Neck, Rosewood Board, Stainless steel frets, gotoh 510 bridge.

I want something really dynamic but works great for rock tones.  The heaviest styles I play are in the EVH spectrum.  80's hair metal and classic rock with plenty of tapping shenanigans!

My love is for Fusion though, in the Guthrie Govan, Ritchir Kotzen, Greg Howe territory tone wise.

But I want it to be really dynamic for blues and funk and stuff like that as well.

The VHII looked good but I'm worried it's a bit too bright?

I want to warm up my guitar but keep the clarity.

In the neck I want it to be really open and warm sounding.  I like the vintage output in a neck humbucker.

Suggestions for warming up a brighter sounding strat style guitar would be very welcome!

Bridge: Abraxas or Crawler. These have the mids and rounded (but not dull) topends to beef up and balance a (super)strat. I have the Crawler in a HSS-swampashstrat, paired with Irish Tour. That guitar is more bright than dark. The Crawler provides juicy fat tones that keep weight higher on the fretboard. The growl from the Crawler - when pushed - is really something special.
Still the Crawler has a (bluesy and rocky) vintagevibe to it. It's like a PAF on steroids, yet keeping noteseparation and clarity. There's is enough treble, don't worry, and this pickup is capable of doing prog.styles. Also, the Crawler sounds clean very good and thins out a bit when turning the volumepot down. As a bonus the Crawler splits very well, so you can have the funk-quack on the fourth position.

The same goes more or less for the less hotter Abraxas, that has more chime and less mids, but still a quite amount of mids compared to the Mule-bridge. Splits are good too.
The Holy Diver could be an option too. This one sounds more modern, but has the warmth and organic touch of alnico. HD sounds a little less big than the Crawler, but still very solid strong mids and superb creamy solotones. Overall more 80's hardrock/metal, less bluesy.

For the neck: open and warm, yet transparant: Mule-neck. Maybe the Abraxas-neck will do too. Crawler-neck is very warm. Perhaps too warm.

For the middlesinglecoil: Mother's Milk or a slightly fatter and hotter Irish Tour.

I was thinking of the Mule in the Neck, want it to be warm but still with plenty of chime.

Will the mule keep up in terms of power?

Every thing you've said makes me wan to suggest vhii's although im not sure about ' authentic fusion guitar tone'.

All i'm saying is if you love EVH vhii's are the way to go especially in a basswood super strat....thats what he used.

Turn up the Mule a bit and set the Crawler not too high. I think the disbalance will be limited, as I experience the Crawler as mediumhot, not high output at all. Maybe a tad hotter than the VHII, which in this case I don't recommend for your styles. It's a great rock/hardrockpickup, but lacks vintagewarmth imo.
