I just scored this one! Now I have two. You can pick them up cheap and they sound very nice, also on low volume.

i was watching some live Rush footage recently. lifeson was using a H and K like usual. it sounded great but his tone with a les paul was a little too thick. not sure what kind he was using. did he have a signature model?

either way congrats!

The Statesman is not in production anymore, but I like the vintage tone. It sounds more old school than the Tubemeister-range. Clean is quite Fendery and with the twangbutton you can really funk. Drivechannel has a boost and gets you into classic Marshall-terrority, just a tad darker overall. The top has a solovolume too, which you can switch per footbutton. It's actually a simple plug- and play-amp. I have two Statesman EL34-heads now and a matching 2x12-cab, which give a lot of joy for no money.

Demo by Thomas Blug:

Alex Lifeson has a signature Triamp. Totally different amp.

375 euro, but in mint condition with a recent tube swap.
Yeah, I recommend the Statesman in the past. I had the 40 watts EL84 combo, which is a nice grab and go-amp. The head has quite some extra gain though and sounds a little smoother  than the EL84-combo. I sold the combo to fund some pedals, but I regretted it after a while. So I've been watching if good used ones come by. The head has two plusses over the combo: a solovolume and a separate eq's for both channels.

I think they are underrated amps and a bargain if you're looking for vintage sounds, from Fender-clean, tweedsounds to (hotrodded) plexisounds.

I like the demo very much. If I were looking for a new amp, this is a direction I think I would look at.

Cool amp, if it sounds half as good as it looks you have a winner!

It sounds better than it looks  No really, I can't understand why they stopped the production. They have a place beside the Tubemeisters.
