hey guys the title says it all. i'm just curious if this is possible. i'd like to try it out and how would i wire this? also, would i be able to use a typical mono jack or would i need a stereo jack to make this work? thanks!

On a J-bass you generally find that it is wired two volumes into a master tone pot and then from the tone to the jack.

Like this:

You can easily omit the tone and go from the bridge volume to the jack.  Just follow where the hot connection goes

With single conductor you just need to run an earth from the bridge volume to the jack ground.
