Pickups for two Mayones Regius 6 and 7
« on: December 04, 2014, 12:30:02 PM »
Hello. I've got two Mayones Regius guitars. One is 6 string swamp ash body maple top and hard maple /wenge neck and maple fretboard tune to C#. Second is 7 string swamp ash body maple top, maple/wenge/padouk neck and ebony fretboard, neck thru. I play mosty metal, death metal. Alot of palm mute chords, alternate picking, fast riffs. I need pickups for this guitars. I like tight and articulate bas , clear heavy sound without harsh and fizzy. I like hear every note but sound must be powerfull and strong. I like hear guitar wood also. My amp is EVH 5150 III. Which pickups will be best for this guitars, woods and music style?
C-pig, Jagg, Aftermath, C-Bomb.

For metal which should not be harsh and fizzy I would think that both the Juggernaut and Warpig are prime suspects. Perhaps the Jugg for the 7 and the Pig for the 6.

The jugg delivers a tight and fast, but crushing bottom end, with a clear and rounded high end. Perfect for taming those fretboard woods.

The Warpig is just that: A Warpig. Seriously big and crushing, but in the ceramic version also tight, and roaring rather than fizzy. For death metal it is brilliant.
BKPs in use: 10th set / RY set / Holy Diver b, Emerald n / Crawler bridge, Slowhand mid MQ neck/ Manhattan n
On the sidelines: Stockholm b / Suppermassive n, Mule n, AM set, IT mid
