Schecter Tempest Custom BKP Suggestions
« on: December 12, 2014, 01:40:58 PM »
I'm a bit new to Bare Knuckle Pickups but from what I've heard I really like them. I'm looking to put a set into my Schecter Tempest Custom and I've got a few ideas in mind but I would really like suggestions from people more experienced than I. I was thinking of possibly putting a Ceramic Warpig in the bridge and a Painkiller in the neck, an Aftermath in the bridge with a Painkiller in the neck, or possibly just a set of the Warpigs, Aftermaths, or Painkillers. I'm hesitant to buy the Warpigs as I've heard that they can give a guitar too much of a bass like sound.

Musically I'm into: Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Hardcore Punk, Metalcore, some Post-Hardcore, Alternative Rock, etc

Some favorite bands and players include: Cradle of Filth*** (Paul Allender; especially in the "The Death of Love"), Winds of Plague***, Starkill***, Sylosis***, Motionless In White***, In Hearts Wake***, I Killed The Prom Queen, The Ghost Inside, Nevermore, Daath, Miss May I, etc.

What are your thoughts/suggestions?

For what you want to play I'm guessing you will be happiest with Nailbombs (maybe with the ceramic option) or Painkillers.

Seconded with emphasis on the C-bomb. Usually a tad more versatile than the painkillers and perfect for Melodic death and all things hardcore and such. It is really dirty and agressive (I mean it is inspired by nailbomb album so that is no surprise).
