Pickups for my Horus?
« on: December 17, 2014, 05:43:29 AM »
My Horus needs the stock pickups ripped out. Just too muddy for my taste. In the neck I probably want to go with a Trilogy Suite but haven't decided what I want in the neck.

So here's the deal, I don't want to go with a BKP in the bridge, mainly for money reasons. What I want is something that goes well with the TS and would do a B standard-tuned Carcass-ish type sound. Was thinking about trying the Nazgul or maybe a Distortion. I know the JB is pretty much the pickup most associated with Carcass, but I don't know. I kinda just want something else.

I bought a used Caparison Horus last year that came with a Warpig and was tuned to Drop C, which is not my tuning at all. :)
But the big thumping lows did work well with it.

The neck shape pup is more like a Tele bridge shape, which looks weird.

Don't think you will get help on the bridge pup, unless you are asking about a BKP pup.
BKP: Abraxas - Les Paul
Holy Diver - Charvel
Mule - Les Paul
Rebel Yell - Les Paul
VHII - PRS CU22
Emerald - Les Paul
Warpig - Caparison Horus
